Afin de mettre le pied à l'étrier à mon frangin, je cherche désespérément un exemplaire papier ou PDF du Sketchup Starter Kit de Laurent Brixius...

Plus dispo en neuf où que ce soit, introuvable en occasion (en tous cas, là où j'ai cherché).

Un des membres de l'honorable lectorat aurait-il une idée de génie ? (ou un exemplaire à vendre ?)

Bien entendu, je cherche ça à titre payant, pas question de copie illicite.

Je commence à avoir une collection de matériaux/textures assez vaste. Je suis à la recherche d'une solution simple pour les visualiser, les classer et, éventuellement faire du ménage.

A priori, un fichier SKM est une archive ZIP qui contient, entre autres, une icône au format PNG et, sans le sous-répertoire REF, le JPEG qui la compose.

N'y a-t-il pas un moyen simple de faire apparaître le PNG ou le JPEG en icône dans l'explorateur de figchiers ? Je rêve ou c'est faisable ? Et est-ce que quelqu'un l'a fait ?

OK, je vous l'accorde, j'ai été un peu sec sur ce coup-là...

Si vous avez installé la dernière version du driver de votre carte, vous devez avoir une petite icône nVidia dans votre barre de notifications (logo nVidia vert).

clic-droit sur l'icone et lancer [Ouvrir le panneau de configuration nVidia]
dans la colonne de gauche (Sélectionnez une tâche), clic sur [Paramètres 3D | Gérer les paramètres 3D]

Là, vous avez 2 options :

3a) dans la colonne de gauche (Gérer les paramètres 3D, onglet [Paramètres Globaux]), vous pouvez définir votre Processeur Graphique Préféré dans la liste déroulante. Par défaut, il y a "Auto séléction", je lui ai collé "Processeur nVidia". Radical, mais efficace.

3b) si vous voulez n'utiliser la préférence pour la carte nVidia que pour SketchUp (et LayOut), clic sur l'onglet [Paramètres de Programme], vous pouvez :

Sélectionner le programme à personnaliser : ajouter SketchUp
Sélectionner le Processeur Graphique : choisir la carte nVidia
Spécifier des paramètres de programme : modifier éventuellement les paramètres, en choisissant le meilleur compromis qualité/performances. Par exemple, j'ai passé l'anti-crénelage à 8x...

Perso, j'ai mis en oeuvre les deux options, la a) pour utiliser de préférence la carte nVidia et la b) pour ajouter à SU2014 des options plus pointues, genre anti-crénelage et le filtrage anisotrope (me demandez pas ce que c'est, je suis juste un conseil d'un qui sait).

Ça fonctionne et du coup, vous pouvez aussi aller vous en jeter un (à ma santé !).

Problème identifié et résolu :

Je découvre avec ravissement (et mieux vaut tard que jamais), que mon ASUS N76V a un système d'affichage hybride : un chip intel intégré au processeur i7 et une carte NVidia GeForce GT650M. Et par défaut, SU2014 utilise le chip intel. Et ça rame un peu. Et je pouvais mettre à jour 18 fois mes drivers NVidia, ça ne changeait rien de rien. Nibe. Ballepeau. Zobi. Keud. Nada.

Mais voilà, sur les machines hybrides, on peut associer un GPU particulier à un programme donné...

Vous la voyez venir, la farce ? Du coup, je colle le NVidia d'autorité à SU2014, la boîte de sélection réapparait et -- ô joie -- je m'aperçois de Sketchup avec une GeForce GT650M équipée de 2Go, ça pulse autrement plus fort en 3D que le chip intel HDGraphics 4000.

J'ai un petit problème d'affichage sous SU2014 : lorsque je veux sélectionner plusieurs objets, la "boîte" de sélection que je suis censé tracer à la souris pour entourer les objets à sélectionner n'apparaît pas.

Si je désactive l'accélération matérielle dans les préférences / OpenGL, elle apparaît correctement, mais les performances sont merdiques.

LA dernière MàJ de ma carte nVidia GEforce GT650M a été faite.

OK, les mecs, problème résolu !!!

(ou plutôt, contourné, mais nafoutt', ça marche !!)

Récupérer et installer « Link Shell Extension » (http://schinagl.priv.at/nt/hardlinkshellext/linkshellextension_fr.html#contact), qui permet de créer des liens symboliques dans des systèmes de fichiers NTFS, un peu comme sous UniX
À l'aide de LSE, créer les jonctions suivantes :

C:\Roaming vers C\Users\François\Roaming
C:\Profil vers C\Users\François

Créer sur le bureau un fichier de commande « SU2014.bat » :

set APPDATA=C;\Roaming
set USERPROFILE=C;\Profil
c;
cd "C;\Program Files (x86)\SketchUp\SketchUp 2014"
SketchUp.exe

Exécuter le fichier de commande --> youpi !

En fait, l'interpréteur de scripts Ruby s'appuie sur les variables systèmes pour accéder (entre autres) au répertoire des plugins. Et quand ce nom de répertoire contient des caractères nationaux (ç), il perd les pédales. En créant les deux jonctions, on lui fait croire que le nom de ce répertoire ne contient pas de caractères nationaux.

Testé à l'instant.

Download and install « Link Shell Extension » (http://schinagl.priv.at/nt/hardlinkshellext/linkshellextension_fr.html#contact). It allows to create symbolic links in NTFS filesystems, just like under UniX
Using LSE, create the following hardlinks :

C:\Roaming to C\Users\François\Roaming
C:\Profil to C\Users\François

On your desktop, create a command file named « SU2014.bat » :

set APPDATA=C;\Roaming
set USERPROFILE=C;\Profil
c;
cd "C;\Program Files (x86)\SketchUp\SketchUp 2014"
SketchUp.exe

Run the command file --> yee-haa !

In fact, the ruby scripts interpreter uses the system variables to access (among other things) the plugins directory. And when this directory's name contains national characters (such as "ç"), it goes south. By creating the two hardlinks, you let it believe that the directory name contains no national characters.

I closed my session (under 'François') and opened a new one, under 'toto'...

SU2014 works fine, I can install and use BuildEdge, TT_Lib2, Architect Tools, and a couple of others, as far as a 2-minute test can show...

So it seems that the cedilla in my first name is the problem, after all... Too bad these things are developped by guys who only know 26 letters. And I'm afraid I'll have to wait for a fix for a loooooooong time.

Uninstall SU2014 from my machine, delete its directory under 'D:\Program Files (x86)' and clean up all crap it left in the registry.
Start a clean "standard" install, not modifying the target directory, that is 'C:\Program Files (x86)\SketchUp\SketchUp 2014'.
Launch SU 2014 from the shortcut it just created on the desktop --> Works OK.
Install latest available version of TT_Lib2 from the EWH --> Installs OK
Exit SU2014 and restart it --> KA-BOOM !!

Exit SU2014, copy '!_fix_ruby_startup.rb' into 'C:\Program Files (x86)\SketchUp\SketchUp 2014\Tools' and launch SU2014 again --> same flavour of KA-BOOM !!

The I/O error online 2 suggests that the path with a "Ç" in it cannot be accessed... 'Cause I double-checked, the 'core.rb' is exactly where it's supposed to be.

NB : I'm not even close to the point where I can ask myself whether I'll start SU from its own shortcut or by clicking on an SKP file on another drive....

I'll start an auto-hypnosis session, to try to convince myself that SU2013 is just what I want...

Je ne mélange pas vraiment, au contraire... Une vieille habitude d'Unixien. Sur toutes mes machines, depuis des années, il y a une partition pour le système, une pour les programmes, une ou plusieurs (E:, F:,...) pour les données, en séparant si possible les données perso des données professionnelles et une X: pour le fichier d'échanges de Windows (taille fixe).

L'intérêt que j'y vois, c'est moins de risques en cas de crash d'un disque ou d'une partition, des sauvegardes plus faciles, moins de risque de remplir le disque système,...

Du point de vue de l'organisation logique des données sur un ordinateur, un disque ou une partition, ce n'est jamais qu'un répertoire de 1er niveau. Or, tout le monde stocke ses données, ses programmes et son système dans des répertoires différents, non ?

OK. I created a new account on my machine, the name is 'toto'. It has administrator's privileges.

Installing TTlib_2 gives the same whole block of error messages.

Installing DIBAC (just for a test) seems to work fine.

I notices several issues :

any username : the selection box (i.e. the dotted rectangle around a selection being made, while you click'n'hold and move your mouse) does not appear, although elements are selected.
as 'toto' : When I installed TTlib_2 and every time I start SU2014, I get the following message :

Due to a bug in SketchUp 201 M0
the standard library was not loaded.
Please start SketchUp from a link on 
the drive it was installed to instead 
of from clicking an SKP on a different 
drive.

as 'François' : the above message does not appear, but the "Plugins" drop-down menu is not displayed.

It definitely seems you're right in your diagnostic about my "ç".... I hate that. It had been an issue when moving to SU8, but a fix was quickly released...

Still, my situation regarding SU2014 is more of a beta tester's than a customer's, ain't it ?

Je viens d'installer la mise à jour SU2014, puis, emporté par l'enthousiasme, une rafale de plug-ins que j'utilise régulièrement. Et au démarrage, SU m'insulte copieusement...

Donc, machine arrière :

suppression de tous les plug-ins, aussi bien en décochant leur case dans les préférences qu'en les effaçant du répertoire \AppData\Roaming\SketchUp...
installation via l'extensions store de TTlib²
au redémarrage, sa case n'est pas cochée : je la coche et je redémarre
et là....
