Oh I see....the guy actually has a seat in the bowl.
Ok, you should keep that !
You just have to scale up both the toilet as the man inside.
Right now the toiet is scaled like a 'real' toilet, while it is intended to be bigger. It should at least be double size of current dimensions I think.

RE: Pot Rod
Hi Marked,
Light on the toilet is way richer then the first one. Perfect.
Did you introduce the physical sky +sun to get it come out like this?
I was expecting a guy 'sitting' on the vehicle though.
Right now, certainly compared to the rest of the image, the 'driver' is scaled wrong. -
RE: Pot Rod
He he, nice idea!.
How exactly do you get that shadow on to a HDRI?
Is it by using some 'shadow channel' while hiding the ground face?
Does such a channel render seperately from Maxwell?sorry for the curiousity..

did anyone tried another render of the model i posted?
I think no one dares to compete with the images you made.
The athmosphere on both is amazing. Those curtains are alive ! -
RE: Garden
I love all the green things in your image, ranging from the 3D shrub components to the clipmap trees and the clipmap grass.
The grass must have increased file size a lot.You sure know how to populate a scene with vegetation realistically.
Nice job! -
RE: Cookie cutters
Wow...Congratulations marked001!
She looks soooo sweet.
You can be a proud father.Your best render by far

RE: KT 2008 Echo Edition Teaser!!
@Frederick,
Sounds promising.By the way, I love the lawnmower in that 'KT echo' image you posted. It seems he has a sh*tload of work to do

RE: SU 2 modo test
Good to see you took the test Stinkie.
I tried the demo some months ago.
As a modeler it looked really complex to start and I got the feeling Modo is not really meant for architecture modeling (dimensions?). After some hours I gave upI guess the ease of use of Sketchup has spoilt me...
From what I have seen as rendered output, Modo seems to do a pretty fine job on rendering though... -
RE: KT 2008 Echo Edition Teaser!!
Looking good Jenu.
IES ligthing looks like a nice plus to Kerkythea.
Any improvements in the pipeline (KT2008), regarding the 'biased' render methods and the physical sky ? -
RE: Just a bit of messing around
I agree.
Simple and nice at the same time.
The strong blue creates a nice athmosphere.(Something looks odd about the window though...it looks more like a poster.
Maybe you could put more detail in to the window framing)Cheers,

RE: SU/Max/Photoshop
He he
It reminds me of in game scenery in the adventure game series 'Myst'.I love it !

RE: Su vue
Hi Sah,
I must say that the render quality of Vue is quite nice...
The light and shadows in that last image look great.
Good job -
RE: ..kitchen..
A good start Marked001...
first I need to compliment you on your Sketchup output. That black and white really works well. Actually I like that much more than a textured SU model. Is it some special style preset?
Second, I am sure this will end up as a great rendered image, as always.
Are you going to introduce a subtle yellow to the floor and wall texture to gain a warmer feeling? Right now they look plain B&W...or maybe slightly warm tinted light could help as well.I love to see the resulting rendered image.

RE: Bathroom revisited (Podium v1.5)
Thank you sir
I thought I'd throw in some earlier on-site images of the real thing.
The bathroom is finished some time ago, but due to circumstances I haven't been able to get in there afterwards to shoot photos of the finished thing.I should have done that when I was still supervising the works.first shot:When you look closer you can see one of the earlier rendered images lying on the bathtub. Showing the rendering to the contracters sure did help to explain what I was aiming for.
And another shot:

RE: Bathroom revisited (Podium v1.5)
Thanks Marked001 and Frederick.
Frederick,
In reality, the tiles are really as reflective as in the rendering.
On the site images, however, the tiling caught some dust because of the work going on there so the reflection is less visible there.
I discussed the risks of that type of tiles being slippery with the client in design phase, and he decided it was best choice to use.Indeed caustics (=light patterns on objects caused by refraction of light in the water)would enhance the realism, but in my experience (other render engines),using caustics shoots render time through the roof. (Podium doesn't support caustics in current version).

RE: Bathroom revisited (Podium v1.5)
A screen shot of the Sketchup setup:
The scene is entirely lit by 'LEMs' (= light emitting surfaces).A screenshot of the water tap:
To model the water I started with a tube. I selected the lowest circle and rotated it horizontally around its center, thus creating the twisted form. Then I applied a water texture with according bump map and added reflection of about 50.
