I took a close look and there was a bunch of Tape Measure marks on the face that once I deleted I could move the face - looks like they were just left over guides to make the i-beam... thanks for your help!

so ordinarily I should be able to push/pull the face to the desired length? I used to use FormZ and it had a combine function that was pretty neat, would "meld" two or more objects to make one...

    • Combining elements / components

I'm a new user of Sketchup, obviously, since I'm posting in the Newbie forum. Here's an easy one for you. Let's say I've imported a sketchup "I-beam" model into my drawing that is 8' long, but I want it to 40' long. When I edit the component and try to push/pull the face, it gives me an error saying that I cannot push/pull a curved face. How can I do this without having to copy and paste a bunch of 8' beams?

      Thanks
