    • How do I map 3D Surfaces to a 2d plan

      Hi anyone,

I have a series of surfaces that I have sliced up and I would like to map these to an organized distributed orthagonal 'plan view' so I can get them into CAD to these profiles to a CNC machine.

I have only the knowledge to do this manually. It takes a long time and I'd love to know if there are any plugins or scripts people have made to automate this.

Attached is an example of the profiles I have in space that I want organised.

I know Rhino can do this, and I'm sure other applications can do this and even nest them. Any advice would be great.

      keywords:
      automate
      map to 2D
      flatten
      send to working plane
      3D to orthographic projection
      3D to CNC
      nest
