      Thanks for the complment. Before the end of June 2011 I did not know sketchup existed and did not have time to downlosd it until mid July.
      I have gotten better at using componets and groups and layers. It is getting easier. There is just a lot to learn. It is still an amazing program for me, as I can see the things in 3d before I go to the forge and get dirty.

      How and where would I do that. I could send a drawing and a photo of the finished project. Also, any advice on how to get to the fredoscale download. I really need the twist tool to get a design out to a finicky client.

      Thanks for the tip. I think I have enough trouble going from cad to sketchup and back. Always trying to draw line in cad and not enter and the opposite in sketchup. Two years ago I was hand drawing everything. There is only so much an old guy wants to learn.

      I am a designer and maker of arcitectural details and recently a young relative of mine suggested I should check out Sketchup. It is an amazing design tool that, though I am struggling with the learning curve I find myself using it for all my projects. Great stuff.
