You could have a look at my new Google site http://sites.google.com/site/namesets in which I trace the steps I am taking to use sketchup with something called namesets. You will definitely need a webdialog for your customer to select your products. It can be as simple as you like with just two basic functions: opening skp files and some device that moves each through the optional locations. The webdialog can be made with HTML and Javascript.
