I've just been working with martin rinehart's outstanding tutorial and highly recommend it if you're fairly new to sketchup. he takes one step by step, with lots of practical, helpful suggestions along the way, through the steps of building an entire craftsman style house. you'll learn best practices and good habits, too. it's broken down into 20 chapters - though the last 10 get into animation and using ruby scripts - and he covers IN DETAIL building a correct and detailed architectural model - down to the mortise and tenons in the bed frame. it's EXCELLENT.
