are you a transplant Craig? are you one of the Queen's disciples?

Me? No, I'm second generation Italian American. My Grandfather came over on a ship in the early 1900's as a small child and my father was born in 1941 in Little Italy NYC as the first American born child in the family. I was born and raised in New York, in a town called Oyster Bay Long Island.

I spelled "honour" in the Universal English spelling as I believe it to be appropriate when trying to show someone that you are trying to relate to them instead of asking them to relate to you. I also say "Cheers" because it is a nice thing to say, it can be used as a casual/friendly greeting, and more importantly can be used for sharing good fortune with others when having a drink! πŸ˜„

      Cheers!

Paul, I would like to sincerely congratulate your wife, Susan on being recognized for her work! What an incredible honour! Recognition of one's work, especially when someone gives much of themselves selflessly, can be very rewarding and humbling. Cherish this shared moment in the sun! πŸ˜„

I very much enjoy hearing about people's triumphs in life, as I think it raises the whole world to celebrate each others accomplishments!

It is obvious from your work, and now from this honor bestowed upon your life partner that you two are very high caliber people! This makes me happy...to know that you share your life with someone who makes you proud. Enjoy this time, my friend! πŸ˜„

Thank you for sharing, it's an honour!

      Cheers to you both! πŸ˜„

Yikes... She should have just said "More people need to go to Google Earth and check out the wicked-cool 3D Buildings layer!"...

...or maybe she should have used the non brain-killing hairspray... πŸ˜‰

      That is tragic news Kris.

It's a good time to show thanks to those who've helped us in our lives, and to appreciate each moment of each day.

      Sincerely,

Happy belated Birthday Eric!! Born in '69 eh?! Me too! ...but you're older than me by a month and a day! Ha! Old timer!! πŸ˜†

Well, you've made very good health progress lately, and I hope that trend continues for you through this year and many more!

    • RE: I have to tell you

I've been here from the start, and folks on the SketchUp team come to me first to ask about your feelings, or what's going on with the community. I continually encourage them to come visit here and I send links in emails for folks to take a look at.

With that said, when we do come here, we are hoping to not have to continue to revisit the migration issue over and over. I am moving on with the job at hand, which is to support the SketchUp community, help folks when/where I can, help collect data to improve SketchUp (both ideas for features and issues to fix) and contribute in a POSITIVE way.

Please, let's not continue to argue over what someone calls this most excellent forum. In my opinion, it's keystrokes wasted and we only get so many keystrokes in one's lifetime. πŸ˜‰

      Thank you,

    • RE: What is the first thing you did,

I mapped every Formula 1, Moto GP and World Superbike racetrack in the world!

I also created a SketchUp model of the house my wife and I were renting, and now the house we own, and placed them up there too!

Google Earth is very cool! ...especially if you need to take a brain break.

LOL! That's great! I'm sure they went to great lengths to make sure "Knocked Up" was in Theater 2, just for the sign!

    • RE: Cats!

I was raised with a pair of orange short-hair tabby cats. They were awesome...Tiger was almost twenty pounds and looked skinny. He was a huge, well proportioned cat and had a great personality...very affectionate and social. Candy was much smaller, but was his sister from the same litter, and kicked Tiger's butt often (even though he was the better killer). They lived to 18 and 16 years respectively. I still miss 'em.

By the way, my wife and I just watched an incredible cat story on Discovery DVD this evening. The story is about two zoo born Tigers (Ron & Julie) that were trained and released in a special park in Africa...not at all like their normal habitats in Asia and India. The story of adaptation and learning is simply incredible and the DVD even more amazing to watch! If you like cats, this will absolutely make you wish you did this with your life! Check it out, it's called "Living with Tigers" from Discovery DVD Classics, Animals O2.

You'll really like it...it was truly amazing.

    • RE: Pretty amazing nature video

That's funny, my Uncle is from South Africa, and this past weekend (while we were attending my Grandma's funeral) the family was all together and he told me about this incredible video. We had some time later in the weekend so we went online and found it. Incredible!

It is an amazing sequence of events! I used to watch Mutual Of Omaha's nature shows when I was a kid and there was always incredible confrontations that, after a while, I began to believe were staged. But then we see something like this!! Just incredible!

...and we think we have a tough day sometimes! πŸ˜‰

      Thanks for sharing, Eric!

      Hi John, et al -

Sorry for the confusion! I didn't even check your location... Yes, this feature has been in certain, but not all locations, with the introduction of Google Earth 4. I'm glad it's in your spot now...and what a spot it is!!! West side of Ramsgate Ave sure does look like a heck of a nice place to live! If you ever need any on-sight help with SketchUp, I'd be glad to stop over! πŸ˜‰

What's changed? There has been a Roads layer in Google Earth 4 for quite a while (I thought it was in the 4.0 release)... http://earth.google.com/earth4.html

If you look at the attached JPG, it's got the Road layer that I circled. This is from the Google Earth 4 - What's New? page.

      Am I missing something?

    • RE: SketchUp Forum - Gone (Jul 07, 2007 )

Hi guys, the final migration is planned for 12 MST (U.S. Mountain Time) today, July 9th, and the old forums will be decommissioned then. I know, sadly this time has come.

I hope you'll stop by the Groups now and again to see the updates we're planning, and I sure do appreciate all of your contributions to the old forum. That's where I first met you all!

In the meantime, there will be a redirect from the old forum link to the new Groups link when the migration is complete, and I'm sure I'll see you all here.

      Cheers,

Wow! That's got some serious action! I can't believe your SketchUp work transcends to the comic layout that well! Incredible!!

We could use your feedback on LayOut. Just send it to me (you know how) when you can, and I'll make sure it gets in front of the right people's eyes.

      Great job Monster!! Fantastic!!

    • RE: Re: Some Funny Pics.

HAHA HAA! LOL! I love the look on the face of the kid in the background!!

You're going to think this is funny, but I used to go to a local playground that had one of these springy rides to train on for riding/racing. Whoever built the playground must have been a big kid him/herself because, out of the 5 springy rides, one had a super stiff spring and larger horse. It was as if they made one for the adults to ride on! So I used to go there and go side to side, doing the exact same stance as the guy in your picture, to develop strength in my "outside" leg for hanging off my bike! I crashed that springy horse about 12 times too! It would just flick me off and I'd "high-side" or flip through the air and land up-side down in the sand. All the little kids thought that was the funniest damn thing they'd ever seen, so I'd keep doing it! I figured it was good crash training too! πŸ˜‰

      Thanks for sharing Eric!

    • RE: New Character for Fuel & Fire

the very last minute, since it doesn't play a part in the story until the end. It'll be a low slung drag racing style shape but with an old school frame and mechanics. Plus some nice pipes. πŸ˜„

No worries Monster, you've been busy! I'll check out the video...I'm sure it's mind boggling!

About the bike...I'm a huge motorcycle nut (having 7 motorcycles currently!...3 are my wife's) so if you want to bounce any mock-ups off of me, you know how to reach me!

I'm looking forward to seeing more!
