I just bought a Fuji F31fd for my wife just as a point and shoot camera. I was very impressed with the results...good in low light, short shutter delay, excellent battery life, does video at 640 x 480, drawbacks are only a 3 x optical zoom and it uses XD memory cards which are more expensive than other types. Best to check the reviews, i use http://www.imaging-resource.com/

    • RE: Anti-SketchUp! Snobbery [or Ignorance?]

I wonder what would happen if Autocad were to be given away free? would it mean that people would be turn their noses up at autocad designs? I don't understand why this is. If you wrote a bestselling book, does anyone ask what paper it was written on or what word processor was used? Personally (and I'm only a hobbiest) its the results that count not the journey.

    • RE: Does anyone remember?

I experienced a bit of 3ds funkiness after reinstalling the 6.0.1145 build again, but after throwing away the "com.google.sketchuppro.plist" it all seems to be working as it should be.

One should read the release notes for SU 6.0.1145 for Mac here : http://docs.google.com/View?docid=ajg9d7mmp8rt_5dfz7c6
      it is clearly indicated :
" If you upgrade to a non-English release after installing an English SketchUp 6 release. the FBX exporter may not longer be available on the Mac. The workaround is to uninstall the release and then reinstall the non-English release. "

I am running an English version . Had the same problem. Reinstalled 6.0.1145. Fixed !

Good call Francois, however since I am running the English version I saw no reason to pay any attention to this ( I haven't used fbx for sometime).

I know this was discussed here a few weeks ago.

I usually use 3DS but thought I would try a fbx and it is not on the list anymore.

Wasn't there someone who no longer had FBX export as a 3D model export choice on their Mac?

There is no need to reinstall SU all you should have to do is start SU using Rosetta, however I think that maybe FBX has been removed completely from recent builds...this worked on build 6.0.313 but not on build 6.0.1145.
