RE: Scrambled SketchUp
I would LOVE to hear the fix for this. When I run sketchup on my windows partition (macbook pro) I have this same problem. I've tried playing with the openGL settings but it does no good.

Something isn't right..
Well.... this makes me feel a little bit better about Vue and interiors.

RE: Render This: Interior
There is only glass on the back door, not the large window. I'll be curious to see what you or pete suggest.

Captain, are you welding your verts once you import into Vue? If not, that's most likely what's causing the light leaks.
Adam, I wish that was the answer; it would make for an easy fix. Verts were welded after import. (on your render) see where the light escapes from the above room at the top of the stairs? I believe that light is what appears on the corner...?

RE: Render This: Interior
I threw one together, but of course Vue managed to mangle the light. The floor looks good but other than that everything else is a mess. I'll keep working on it.

Care to share the scene?
This way we can have a 'Render this' thread where users can fiddle around and see how they can make this scene more realistic.
Yes Please! I've been waiting for another 'render this'

RE: Couple new pool renders (Vray)
Yeah, Iām not liking the cedars at all. A nice row of blue spruce would be killerā¦ Other than that I like the plantscape. Too bad this isnāt one of yours, Iām sure your gonna have more pools in the pipeline once you finish up the current pool job.

RE: Couple new pool renders (Vray)
Nice renders Adam, Iām really digging the planting scheme! The second and third image sells the job for me. Is the pergola a prefab unit? Iād love to see the bases (about half way up the supports) be veneer matching the spa veneer. That would tie everything together IMO. Your waterfalls never cease to disappoint, but the first one is a bit over exposed. Nice work!

I think its great.. almost looks like it has a filter on it to make it a bit more 'artsy'...like it alot. i want to get into doing some Vue interiors sometime soon, myself. thanks for sharing.
Thanks, for this particular render I agree the style looks cool. It's just frustrating because I canāt take that 'filter' off if I wanted too, lol.

Nice job Captain! I think you have a pretty darn good interior render there...especially for Vue. I think blowing out the wall does make it appear that the room is very large and I think you can tell in the lighting that more light is flooding in from the missing wall than from the windows as it should. It is difficult, I know, to get enough light into an interior in Vue. Global radiosity will be the best best for interiors.
I played with it for about 5 minutes in photoshop. Hope you don't mind.
Hey Adam thanks for the compliments, It cooked with GR for about 40 minutes at 600 dpi on the 'final' setting, considering those settings it leaves much to be desired. So when you use Vray do you close off the room? Any thoughts on how to get better interior lighting results from Vue or is it hopeless? Here is one I tried only this time I closed off the room. Some real funky stuff going on with the lighting....

RE: First interior model/render
Thanks for the link. Interesting to see the progression and renders from other folks. A question about interior renderingsā¦ Do you guys typically close off the room or leave a wall out for the camera?
I left the wall out but Iām not sure if that miscalculates the way the environment and light affects the room?

RE: First interior model/render
Thanks Rich! You are right, the lights are a little large. Do by chance have a link to the kitchen you mentioned, I cant find it?

First interior model/render
Hi all, I decided to give a try at an interior. Everything I have done in the past has been exterior for my landscape/masonry work. This is rendered in Vue and Iām not overly excited with the results. Any advice on generating better interior renders with Vue (other than buying Vray, lol)?

RE: Knobs anyone?
If anyone still has this collection could you re-up it? The link was active a few weeks ago... I should have swiped it when I first saw it

RE: Bar Height Table/Front Gate Lounge
Here is a Lounge chair from the Front Gate catalog. The cushion was an afterthought and it might need more work.
