I have a Microsoft Mouse 3000, which I assume is similar to your 3500. In the Intellipoint software, I made these button assignments:

      • Left Button = Click
      • Right Button = Secondary Click
      • Wheel Button = Handled by Mac OS
      • Upper Button = Back (I don't use the upper button in SU, so this setting doesn't matter to me)

I also checked the Enable vertical scrolling button on the Scrolling tab.

With those settings my mouse works the same in SU as it does on Windows. The only issue is that Intellipoint does not start automatically after the Mac boots; I have to open the settings to get it going. There's no doubt a way to make it start on boot, but I'm too lazy to look it up.

If I let ''handled by mac'' what happens is, when I press the wheel button, it actives the dashboard ๐Ÿ˜

Intersect Faces is what you want but you have to do it correctly. Open for editing the component that needs to get the edges. Then run Intersect Face>With Model.

You need to understand components and groups. When you wrap a bunch of geometry into a component or group, you isolate it so no geometry will be added to it unless you open the wrapper (edit) the component or group. It's like having a sandwich wrapped in cling film. If you lay a slice of tomato on the sandwich without first opening the wrapper, it won't change the sandwich.

Yes, thank you, now I got it!

    • Intersecting Faces of Components

      Hello!
There is an annoying thing happening to me. I created a component that intersect the faces of another component. In fact, is the concrete slab that intersect the uppermost part of the walls. The result is a transition between wall and roof (viewing inside the house) without edges. So, I 'discover' the option ''Intersect faces/With model''. The problem, now, is that this option create all the edges, but unbound to any component and it would be a lot of work to solve this manually. So, isn't another easier way to solve my problem?

      Thank you very much!!

which mouse do you have and did you install any accompanying software with it?

I have a Microsoft Mouse 3500. It has a software, Microsoft Intellipoint, but I can only set up generic commands to the central button. Even if I configure command + control as the function of the central button, it doesn't work out.

    • Mouse with Mac

      Hello!
I work on a MacBook and recently I bought a three button mouse. However, it didn't work like Windows. I mean, holding the central button to orbit or pan. This doesn't work. Is it possible to fix it?
      Thank you!

Do you want to leave the outer component basically as it is? Open that component, select the inner component and hit Edit>Cut (or the appropriate keyboard shortcut), close the component by clicking out in space or via the right click menu. Hit Edit>Paste in place. The component you cut from the bigger component will now be outside the big component but in the same location.

You could also do this via Outliner by clicking and dragging the component name from inside the bigger component to outside of it.

      Thank you! Very helpful. ๐Ÿ˜„

    • About Components

Hello. I have a component inside another component. I want to make to take this component outside, independent from the other one. How can I do this?

      Thank you!
