    • "Odd" Subtract Behavior - Is This Solvable?

I have two pieces of modeling (as seen in file attachment)- one a long molded beam and the other a small shaped piece (on right) to be used to subtract an area from the long molded beam. The pieces in file are in the location to be used for the subtraction. I have tried this about 30 times - twice was somewhat successful - but left stray faces/lines, added "defects" in the beam mesh - or incompletely subtracted. The other times it just wouldn't perform any subtraction. Am I missing something? I used thomthom clean up/solid inspector on the front end to check the meshes. Any comments and/or tips would be helpful. Note that I'm an intermediate user of SK... THANKS IN ADVANCE
