    • Issues with generic translucent material

      Hello all,

I am having some issues with generic translucent materials (opaque colored polygons, not opaque textures) and their effect on the rest of my model. For instance, I created a building in SU with a glass railing around the balcony (see screenshot below).

Looks fine in SU but when exported to KMZ I can see all the way through the model to the GE terrain behind and below (see screenshot).

The polygons are painted with this translucent gray coloring on both sides and I am still seeing this happen. Oddly enough, this "x-ray" effect only happens when I am looking at painted/textured surfaces through the opaque polygons.

I initially feared that this was a hardware issue, but I have updated my drivers and tried every hardware configuration.
I run an Nvidia Quadro FX1700 on Windows XP. If anyone else has experience conflicts with this graphics card/operating system, let me know.
Otherwise, I'm at my wits end. Any ideas??

Oh and here's a link with the KMZ file.

If it is a hardware issue, does anyone see what I'm seeing?

      Thanks,
      Alex
