      Thank you! For some reason the imported model was cleaner which allowed me to do what Dave R suggested. I was able to reduce the size of the model from 35 mb down to about 4 mb πŸŽ‰

      The model was originally a .step file and I imported it into SketchUp. The way it got imported is very messy.

      I'm wondering if there is a tool or an extension that could only extract external face of a rather detailed model. I don't mind the details, but its slowing down the program quite a bit.

      In other words, I'm only interested in the external dimensions of the model as it is simply a part of large system of equipment/instruments.
