    • How do I bind helixs to a curved model

Does anyone have a clue as to how I can "bind" the helixs to the candy cane to create a new face which I can then add color to? Please see the far right cane in the attached image.

Using multiple plugins and finally settling on "Helix along Curve" I've been able to add the stripes around a candy cane. The problem I have is that I cannot get the face within the stripes to be its own texture. Ideally, I'd like to add the traditional red stripe around the candy cane. Take a look at the attached image...

I figured I'd use "Upright Extrude" extension, and it fails at the top of the candy cane where the bend begins.

I would really appreciate any help. I've been working on this for about 5 hours now .... 😑
