RE: IMPORTING 3DS FILE INTO SKETCHUP
ok well i did as u said and i unchecked everything and checked them again one by one to see where the slowness is coming from... and finally i realised that the amount of doors i have and people is crazy they really made it extreme slow for me, but the design alone without the doors and people still slow.. so i imported the 3ds file into rhino, and its just crazy every line is meshed, so im gonna go back to sketch up and will follow these steps in the link u sent.. u still havent told me what the purge is?

RE: IMPORTING 3DS FILE INTO SKETCHUP
is the file too big to move around with?

RE: IMPORTING 3DS FILE INTO SKETCHUP
so u think i should remove some textures and see how it will work, thats fine, but that is a purge? im new to sketchup i dont really have any plugins

RE: IMPORTING 3DS FILE INTO SKETCHUP
file size? poly count? can you navigate the model in wireframe mode? can you navigate the model with textures removed? have you imported lots of models into your scene?
you shouldn't have to export and import again.
The file size is 47.3Mb and i dont know about the poly counts, i dont know how to find that.. and yes i can navigate it but its still slow..i havent removed any textures only because it takes ages so long to only take one texture off and i have many, i have alot of windows imported and doors and people and furniture basically, the model is big... i actually exported and imported many times
... did i mess up alot? -
IMPORTING 3DS FILE INTO SKETCHUP
Hello there.. i need help, my sketchup is really slow due to my big size design, i cant even navigate it or do anything it will freeze, i looked around and read alot of comments about a plugin called cleanup3, i downloaded it and cleaned it but still the same thing its slow, i also exported it as a 3DS file, went to the file i exported the model in and there i got all the textures and images that are in the model, i resized the images and saved in the same file then i imported that same file the 3DS one into sketchup hoping it will be all fine since i reduced the image sizes.. but that happens is, after importing when i click done it says memory full, it cant load the file. how can i fix this problem?
