Very clean renders. Perhaps the lighting is a little too bright.

BUT have you considered using a suitable textured material applied onto a flat face? This will usually be far more efficient and it can often look as effective in many situations... Obviously 3d objects like sofas need the 3d modeling, but you said an upholstered 'wall'... which will be 'flat' anyway ?
