Hi WhiteRabbit,
Look like the Setting.ini may be corrupted. Go to ProgramFiles/LumenRT 4 Studio/LumenRT/Skp/Ruby and delete the Settings.ini file. Then, restart Sketchup and try firing up LRT again. It will create a new Settings.ini file.

LumenRT automatically converts water, glass, brick and stone materials to their LumenRT equivalents. It just looks at the name of the material to do this. Of couse, you can also set your own custom material properties in Sketchup as well for things like bump, specular, reflection, etc

That sure is pretty awesome...!

...also I never touched a single material, straight photo textures, somehow LumenRT figured out what the water image was...
This sounds truly strange...
Unless LumenRT has a build-in artificial intelligence system (which, in case it has, I'm sure can be useful for a lot of other purposes), I'm sure this must relate to something else...
Knowing that you tend to apply materials in various render apps and saving the 'skippy' is more likely to be the case...Haven't you applied the water material in a previous version of LumenRT, which then will get recognized by the new...?
If not, then I'm sure it's a material from another render app., which is recognized by LumenRT...
There even seem to be a bump map applied to the water...I know you have a monster computer, but how long time did it take to render that animation...?

I use the Sketchup to Vue exporter to bring my models into Vue and often find myself making changes to the original model. I then re export the model from sketchup... go back into the Vue file and us the "Replace by" option. This works ok, unless I have replaced materials or added an ecosystem to a site or something... in which case these get replaced.
I think I can fix that by using the material editor that was added in version 2... I just have not had time to play with that.
I have read that objects should auto update if the where imported... My experience with Vue started with the Sketchup plugin so I have never need to save as .obj files.
Is there any way to get the .vob files that are created from the exporter to auto update if changed?
Thanks for any help.
The .vob files (native Vue object files) exported from Sketchup do not auto-update when changed but it's a good idea. I will make the suggestion to the developers.
You can always use the VuePython script that is generated (in the folder next to the exported model with the textutes) to make importing faster and more automated.

FIXED!!! I realized that the console told me the settings.ini file was denied permission. I used a handy little tool called "Take Own" and took ownership of the LumenRT 2 folder and Voila!
Glad you got it working - let us know what you think after your test runs.

Dave

I hit the export to Lumen Rt button, I get a dialog box asking me to export the selected model or not. Either answer I choose the box goes away and then nothing.
Hi Syndicate,
Lets do a test.
Try loading in a bigger model to test LumenRT - like a house from 3D Warehouse or something. Then , lets open up the ruby console by going to Window --> Ruby Console.
Now, don't select anything in the scene, just go the menu Plugins --> LumenRT --> Export Full Model.
You should then see the export user interface:
If you don't see this interface, check to see what the Ruby Console is showing.

Error installation LumenRT2 Sketchup 8 PRO Win XP.
Hi Dizain,
You need to be logged in as the admin user for the machine to install LumenRT. It puts the .reg file in the All Users/Application Data/e-onsoftware folder

Such a bad luck, I bought this software couple weeks ago, and I still couldn't use it due to license error which is strange for me, why the developer took so long to resolve this. oh and one more thing, this program won't run at all on my machine. and I am still awaiting an update from them.
rfox,
Can you send me an email to dburdick@e-onsoftware.com with all the information about your problem and I'll see to it that the problem gets fixed.
Thanks
Dave
Just a quick heads up that LumenRT version 1.3 update is now available (download it from your e-on Software account page). Key new features:
Support for "face-me" components - they will now all face the camera in LumenRT just like in Sketchup
You can add a custom company logo to show on the splash screen of the LumenRT Live Cubes.
We are still working to correct a few issues with LumenRT on Mac OSX Lion. Also, a demo version of LumenRT will be available shortly.
Some very nice renders by Xijin Cai
