Hi to all, I do had the same problem.
I tried almost everything and fail.
Then i solve the problem, in my case i have window 10, and i download a small software to take ownership full access of the 2 folders: program file - sketchup folder and %appdata% sketchup folder too.
Then i open Sketchup as administrator, positioned all my toolbars, save as default template and closed.
And Voila finally all is ok.

What can I say about this software... wow wowo wooowwwwoooo !!!!
Really incredible so far after few hours of use.
For sketchup, of course will wait for the future update as Bump map, IES light, proxy etc...
But really i am impress.
Sketchup model, render in 8 second almost, no PP, direct from the oven.
Solo's plant pack works very well !

My Spec:
MSI laptop GT72 2QD DOMINATOR- nVidia Geforce GTX970M- 16gb ram - i7 4720HQ
