Great Site!
I hadn't been frequenting the SketchUp forums much lately, so the news of the change caught me by surprise. It's great to know that somebody out there was willing/able to pick up the ball that Google dropped and run with it!
Thanks to Coen and All!

ron, coen and mike,
I hate exchanging notes with a nickname with no avatar nor location or any other useful info about themselves. perhaps providing a minimum of information should be mandatory for each new (and old) member. I would bet many people feel like me.
-
Count me in the "feel like you", Edson...first thing I do if I have to is hit the profile looking for more info and especially a name to respond to. (What makes the avatars so delightful to have!)
-
Edson
I'm all for more info. It makes things a little more friendly, and I think that having a face on an avatar might lead to less confrontation/misunderstanding. You can tell quite a bit from a photo - age, possibly generic idea about culture, sex (Kim Frederick comes to mind! how many thought he might be a she?) etc..
different topic:
I want Tom to tell me what his Cat's name is, but... I guess I just have to keep calling that cat Allan. Allan the Kansas cowboy cat. Good night Allan. Who's a good little hairy Allan?poster-Shaun Tennant

Yeah, I mean look how young I am!
Seriously, I am temporarily putting this baby drummer up while I find a decent "recent" picture of myself. Maybe I am just waiting to lose all the weight first.
Edit, I just changed my avatar but attached is my previous so nobody is in the dark or thinking I am off my rocker, which I am actually, the rocker is in the corner.
-
Eric is that your baby picture? Kind of looks like you a bit.
-
My profile is up-to-date.
Yeah Eric, that little drummer kid shot is awesome! He's really gettin into it!
Your new avatar photo reminds me of the last thing a hamburger must see before it's gone! Just kidding...but it does look like you're going to take a bite outta the camera! ...this may just be the sake talking...

P.S. That's the same look I get on my face when there's only one Guinness left and two people to drink it!
-
Ron, that is not my baby picture... I am a trumpet player, not a drummer
Craig, now I want to change my avatar again. Seriously, that was the last thing my bottle of water saw before I drank it. I am down 6 pounds now and counting.

LOL!!! Ok, so maybe not a hamburger, but you certainly look focused and the only time I'm that focused is in front of good food or entering a turn on the racetrack at high speeds!
Congrats on losing the 6 pounds! Way to go!!
Here's a tip on weight loss too, eat larger meals in the morning, then smaller as the day goes. Your final meal should be early (not just a few hours before bed...more like 4 or 5 hours).
Good luck Eric!
Cheers,

Eric, scary! (Your water bottle surely wet itself. :`)

gosh,
some people's avatars are quite intimidating! I am considering getting some mean-looking picture of myself to use as avatar.

Ok emahfuz, Tom and Craig I have changed it again. Man I hate my picture. Kind of like hearing myself on a recording. Well this will have to do for now. Hope it is not intimidating
-
Eric, I like it...captures your sense of humor quite nicely!
-
eric,
totally reassured by your new avatar. very friendly look. i am at peace now.

Hey Eric, now that's the face I make when I get the last Guinness due to my intimidating "Gimme the Guinness" look!!
Ok, so I've posted an image of myself sans motorcycle and safety gear!
This is a shot the my wife took when we were partying it up for Cinco De Mayo at a great Mexican restaurant in Louisville, Colorado. My uncle got totally trashed and fell outta his bed that night and hit his head on his bedstand! LOL My aunt blames me for some reason! 8O

LOL! No worries, I never beat up Pirates! It would make the Flying Spaghetti Monster very angry!
Mets fans, that's another story!

Well, these avatars are fun, I have been getting comments like - is that really you, you look mean, or a-tit-tude, and one person called me "mr. cooly-cool" That's why I piratised my Avatar. I've changed it here again because I evidently have nothing else to contribute at the moment, I grew a "Ross MacIntosh" at Christmas this year, and had some fun when I shaved er off.. this one is my Yosemite Sam look.. I'll post a picture of me looking nice, and respectful in a couple days.
