Do you know what ?

This forum reminds me of the early days of the SketchUp
Forum ! And that can't be bad -
I've always wondered and this is feeling pretty special - I can't get over the improvement... I love being able to see all the posts that I haven't read at a single click, and pictures of everyone.. also I'd have to say that from the member list, it looks to be about 80% people I know just from the name, and it could even be more so.
Cheers to Coen
Cheers to all' y'all!
Have a great day friendsShaun Tennant

I like it too. Maybe I'm just getting old, but dang it, that Google Groups thing hurts my head!

Hi Mike
I haven't done much posting in the SketchUp forum recently due to pressure of work and partly because it's now so successful that it's more impersonal than in the 'old days' with so many posts to sort through. I agree that this is a bit of a return to the early forum. I hope we're not becoming a bunch of cliquey old farts though! When I got version 1, I'm sure I posted some very dumb questions, it's just that everyone else did too as it was new for all of us. Anyway I hope to post a bit more so maybe the change is a good thing, I can now find another reason to procrastinate from doing work!

Mike,
You are so right.
All we need now, to make it really authentic, is for Grant and Frank to turn up
Ed.
Actually, if somebody could convince 'Gentleman Jim' Holman to join up, the deja vu feeling would be complete. -

Yes, having Jim here would be great. I miss the guy. I stayed at his house at Basecamp. He was my roomy in LA for AIA last year.
But! As much of a techie as Jim is (A-cad and SU support, all the computer mags and tech manuals at his house) he does not own a cell phone - nor a computer (can you believe that?!). He's currently enjoying retirement and traveling quite a bit. I wonder if he has a trip to Chicago planned?

Steven it would be great to have Jim drop in but I guess he is off fishing or something.
I dont think Jim's influence in setting the tone of the original forum can be over-estimated. Apart from being very helpful and knowledgeable his patience and civility was great, particularly with new chums.
