Let's start the healing process by talking about something else for a few min...

My daughter will be 7 in 2 weeks. She asked for an Xbox but I am not willing to go that big. We currently have a Nintendo 64... I know I am showing my age. I will probably get a couple used games for it but was thinking about a handheld device.

I just learned, again my age showing, that the Nintendo DS will play Gameboy Advance games.

What experience have any of you had with the Gameboy Advance, Nintendo DS or Sony PSP?

      Thanks.

I have a 3 & 4 year old. we have the nintendo DS and they love it. my little girl has a game where you can name and raise a little puppy and talk to it over the mic, very cool. they also love Kirby squeak squad, lego star wars & anything mario & peach.
I would recommend a nintendo wii also, you can play all gamecube games on it and you can download all the old nintendo games (for a fee) to play on it as well.
i have an xbox and i don't let my kids play it or see it since most the games for it are not kid friendly.
        just my opinion.

I have bought both a GameCube and a GBA for my 7 year old. They are great systems and have a good selection of kid friendly games. I felt the GC had a larger selection than the PS2 (at the time) or the XBox. I am planning on getting the adapter that will allow him to play GBA games on the GC.

            Thanks guys.

I notice that the Nintendo DS plays Gameboy Advance as well. Does the Gameboy Advance play Nintendo DS games?

Edit. Ok I found out that the GA does not play DS.

I am starting to like the idea of the Wii. Play old GC games and download old... Pretty cool , thanks cheffey ❗
I have always been a Nintendo fan as well.

Well, I just bought my daughter (19) an Imac. The first new thing I got for it was KidPix. Just the right thing to keep 52-year olds from mischief.

The Wii comes with several sports games, everybody I know raves about them. The controller really gives you a sense of playing the tennis and the boxing. Plus she (and you) will be getting something of a workout.
