Reduce poly count...

Forum
A friend is creating stunning automobile models in "XSI Mod Tool". He then, with a function of 'XSI', reduces the poly count dramatically so he can (via a third party utility) import his model into a 'sim' that he enjoys.
I would like to do the same with some high poly count models that I've created in SU. I've searched the net, but have failed to turn up an SU script that will do this.
Anyone have a clue??
Thanx, Bob

Bob,
In SU it is not that easy (and automated) to reduce the poly count of already existing geometry.
There is a ruby script though - "Simplify Contours" that may be useful for you (to tell the truth I have never tried it). As I suppose (from the description) it should work with the wireframe (only) i.e. you would either need to delete the faces first, simplify the countour lines of the model than try to use the sndbox tool to recreate the (already simplified) mesh.Again, I'm not sure this would work however... Here is the link to the page where you can download it.
