I have created a new Default template that had a new and detailed layer structure.
I set up the new preferences and saved it to the Templates. The changes to the preferences stuck.
What didnt stick was all the new layers. I can look at the layer list in notepad and it is substantially heavier than my old default start file, but the layers dont show in the drop down list. Is there a way to dichper the layer list in SU to see what layers may be in there?
Is there a possibility of getting them to display in the list, or is it a total redo?
    Thanks for any advice and...
    Merry Christmas.

    Hank

In its simpliest form, 5 new layers, it works without added entities to each layer.
The version that disappeared had many new layers. I will be building the list and saving it off more often, I need to keep a master in notepad, but I am not sure where to put the notepad layer file to get the default drawing to pick it up.

Adding entities to the layers makes sense though, entities that set for drawing styles that will be used on that layer, that a match property can be executed from.

Luckily, I got all my layers to stick, by using the notepad technique. I didn't have to add entities to each layer.
