        Hi woller,
this is what I found at the SU-Help:
        http://sketchup.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?answer=44291&query=tape&topic=&type=

        Tape Measure tool
With the Tape Measure tool, you can draw both Guides (a continuous dashed line with no endpoints) and Guide points(the endpoint of a fixed-length dashed line).

To draw a Guide, click on any point on an edge between its two endpoints, draw away from the edge, and then click to set the position of the guide, which is a dashed line parallel to the edge. As you are drawing, you can also determine the position of the guide by typing an exact distance in the "Value Control Box" ("VCB").

To draw a Guide point, click an endpoint, for example, the end of a line or the corner of a rectangle, draw out to the point where you want the Guide point to be placed, and then click to set that endpoint.

        Have fun!

          Woller,

well, Martin was quicker (cross posting πŸ˜„) but still I send the post...

If you start drawing your guide line from an endpoint (midpoint) or an intersection point (green or black inference indication)), it will be a a guideline with a guidepoint at the end.
If you start from somewhere on a line or a midpoint however (red or cyan inference), you can draw infinite guidelines.

Woller, I think you edited your original post with a new question so as to not "spam the forum". I'm afraid no one will notice this technique here though and your nexw question will go unanswered. You might as well just start a new thread so everyone can see it.

            Chris

Lately you've been tan, suspicious for the winter.

              Hey Woller, Chris is right!
Very bad tactics - for several reasons!
There is a fine server upload system here for files, look at this topic here:
              http://www.sketchucation.com/scf/viewtopic.php?f=66&t=964

There you can upload your model (or actually you can use the warehouse, too) or you can attatch it here if it's not too big (we encourage everybody though to use Kelly's server for this way we can keep running this forum better).
