I like that very much. Also shows how a simple SU output is mostly enough - no need for fancy Photoshop effects.

I have to agree that its had to beat native SU output .....
but again a good design also helps, nice work πŸ˜‰

              Nice one Edson!
And as others have said, native SU is hard to beat for displaying design intent.

thank you all for the kind words. it is very nice to know that one's work is appreciated.

patrice, believe it or not, mine is a very small practice. it used to be just me and 2 students, now its me and 3 girls from the school where I teach. occasionally I team up with a colleague for a competition, but the pro work is done by myself with the help of the students. perhaps what explains the output is that I love what I do; I usually say that I am very lucky to be able to earn a living doing something I love, and being able to combine my practice with teaching.

by the way, technical drafting is done in vectorworks which is way better than autocad. however, I am not happy with its rendering companion, renderworks, and am thus looking for a rendering software that would not mean a huge time investment to learn. needless to say, 3D is done in SU by me. what is amazing with SU is that it allows me to create and refine a design while drawing, which I had not been able to do with other software.

                my best to all.

                  Hi there,

You may like to try SUPodium for renderings http://www.suplugins.com

It works from right inside SketchUp, is very easy to use and delivers great results... the associated forum is extremely informative with many people willing to advise and help.

                        Hi Edson,

Lucky guy working with three girls!

I would recommend Artlantis for the ease of learning. I have been using it for many years now and just turned recently to Atlantis Studio, very good at moving ojects. Have you try it?

                        Regards,

                        Patrice
