Well, apparently "adressed" to Didier himself...

      Didier,

      1. This is a wonderful tool but I cannot get it run in SU 6 (therefore I need to do it in SU 5 - which would not be a problem but others are interested in it, too).

      2. I found out that when either x or y value is 0, the script just leaves that line of points out (I don't know of 0 z value because I haven't used data with that).

Could you, please, look into these things?

      Thanks...

      Gai...

Invader, I made a sticky topic/post in the Ruby Depot here:

          http://www.sketchucation.com/forums/scf/viewtopic.php?f=153&t=1535

It's on Didier's site. Have fun!

            mmmkay
If I understand well, I must install V6 πŸ˜• (never use it after I tested it ) ?
            I'll have a look at this πŸ˜†

But: what does it do when you launch it on V6 ?

            Regards,

            DB

Ah, thanks, Didier for dropping in (it was some kind of a "bait" writing your name into the subject field πŸ˜„)

Well, without any error messages, it just does nothing at all. No cloud of points. I noticed it previously, too, and posted it in the RIP forum for you and you excused yourself with the same thing - no SU6 installed "yet".

well, here's a link to the GG Forums (it has arisen there lately, too).

Thanks for dealing with it (and/but see also that "Point 2" in my post above, please; that's happening in SU5 - since in SU 6 nothing is happening).

OK, I've posted the new version of cloud.rb at the depository:

                http://www.sketchucation.com/forums/scf/viewtopic.php?f=153&t=1533

                -better dialog box (more user-friendly).
                -better layer support
-more delimiters, sample of file line provided in dialog box
-invalid file detection, more than 3 data per line detection,
-select your X Y Z coords columns when more than 3 data per line in the input file
-option to "flatten" the data (Z=0)

Tested with V5 and V6. works like a charm πŸ˜›

Gaieus, when you say "it does nothing", maybe it does build the cloud anyhow: did you do a "zoom extents" after the command has ended, or did you look at the status bar to see the message when it imports the points ?
If it fails, please send me the input file.

                Cheers,

                DB
