That's exactly how the previous version failed in v2017 on all OSs - it's not MAC specific.
So have you got the latest version installed ?
The latest RBZ which can be downloaded from the PluginStore fixed this issue [v1.0xx]...
      https://sketchucation.com/pluginstore?pln=extrudelinetool-Modified-TIG

If you are sure you downloaded, installed [perhaps restarted SketchUp?] and are then using the latest version... then if you have the Ruby Console open are there any messages ?

For the avoidance of doubt - in v2017 you install the RBZ file's contents using the SketchUp menu item, Window > Extension Manager... red Install Extension button, find the RBZ and answer in the affirmative when prompted. If you have a plugin already installed then restarting SketchUp will ensure any changes are fully registered.

If you have the SketchUcation ExtensionStore³ installed you can install an update like this directly without recourse to downloading the RBZ manually at all...

Can you open the RB file in a plain-text editor and search for the first line that includes "explode", and copy/paste the whole line, that way I can see if it's the updated version...
It should now say: "ssa=gp.explode" ??

I restarted SketchUp and it works fine now.

I installed your plugin via the build-in Extension Manager, and I thought, as you said, it will ensure changes are registered. However it turn out not working and needs a restart of SketchUp.

The SketchUcation ExtensionStore³ AutoInstaller should reload any refreshed plugins, but the built-in Extension Manager does not - if the script is a simple RB file...
It's always a good idea to restart after updating any scripts, as sometimes they need to read in data as SketchUp starts up and first loads them... That will also resolve any menu changes which are usually 'frozen' as SketchUp starts, and usually not updated with any file reloads...

          Glad that it's resolved...

Great tool. Always seemed to me this was a standard function missing in SU.

Has this been updated for Sketchup 2018?

                      It hasn't been updated...
However, it didn't need any changes to work properly in v2018 !
BUT it's not been signed because it's not an extension, just a simple script, and Didier is no longer supporting much of his early work.
Being unsigned should cause no problems with newer SketchUp versions, provided that your Extension Loading Policy is set to 'Unrestricted'.
The Extension Manager dialog will report it as 'unsigned' - that's all, it doesn't stop it working...

There are alternative newer extensions - like my Extrusion Toolset which include similar functionality, and these are signed - however, be aware that with some of the tools in my set v2018 on complex forms can make rare unpredictable BugSplats !

                        Hi…
I have a question about extrude line in JHS Power Bar plugin. I have tried to create a line and select the line, then click on extrude line in that plugin, but it didn’t extruded as seen in youtube tutorial, it was only an offset from first to second point with the same line, there is no any extrusion at all. Please advise me how to correct my steps thanks.

please refers to my link : https://ufile.io/fk7et

In ~80% of cases, I'd prefer the old way (originaledges stay selected). The updated version of the tool is also useful in some cases. It'd just perfect to grant 2 options in one tool via say single Alt hit (for new-born edges get selected).
Or, even better TAB key for selection cycling: original\extruded\connecting edges
