An Extrude [Rails,Edges,Lathe etc] toolbar is in progress...
Does the Extrude Edges select the new set of edges ready to be extruded again?
ExtudeEdgesByRails
does leave the original three picked curves still selected, but if you run the tool again they are deselected and you must re-pick the profile and the rail(s)...
Why the question ?
I think you are confusing my tool with Didier'sExtrudeLine
tool, which now does what you asked, based on some code I clobbered together... -
The question is because this is the thread for Didier's tool, and it doesn't select the new edges created. At least not the one in this thread. Is there an update elsewhere?
-
funny. took me some time to read the title of this thread too...
but indeed. for me it doesn't select the new edges either...

This got a bit side tracked with my tool...
Didier's Extrude Line Tool is within his Projection Toolset... look for that http://forums.sketchucation.com/viewtopic.php?f=180&t=20140&p=171585&hilit=projection#p171585 -
Ah. I completely missed that plugin.
-

Hi bandararith,
Simply copy the file here:
C:\Program Files\Google\Google SketchUp 8\Plugins
-
Hi Didier, love this plug-in!
Just wondering if it's worth an option to hide geometry on curves and also an option o make a group or component?
Cheers, A

As I have said in some other threads for to Didier's 'packed' plugins...
Edit the plugin's .rb file using Notepad.
At the end of the code it says:
.unpack("m")**.to_s**
change the end part to read
.unpack("m")**[0]**
Save and restart SketchUp...
It should now work fine in any SketchUp version. -
Didier has agreed that I might update some of his Plugins in the PluginStore.
Please get the latest version from the PluginStore http://sketchucation.com/pluginstore?pln=extrudelinetool-Modified-TIG This is v2014/2015 compatible. -
Sketchup 2015 64bit sometimes freezes when I use this.

Ruby Console errors ?
It IS an old script - there are now better solutions.
I updated it for Didier, only for completeness... -

No, it just doesn't react any more. This seems to happen particularly if the start point is set not on the selected line, but also sometimes if it is.
Can you recommend an alternative?

Great, thanks! I already had that installed but I must admit I have never really taken a closer look at it, although your plugins are always top notch.
-
Just to note,
This extension no longer generates face in 2017 version.
I suppose it is just not being updated.
-
This a previously reported issue.
It is being updated for v2017 compatibility... just that I haven't finished it yet !
The way v2017 handles references and IDs changed and broke some of the EEby tools...
I have most of them fixed - just tweaking the last few...There is actually a separate thread discussing this too...

Ah, sorry. I wasn't aware that there is another thread.
Thanks for all the work TIG!
