Thanks Howard, that's a fine one, indeed.
Sorry for not having responded earlier - we are a bit "busy" nowadays. It's time now as I'm just transferring this topic. And on this occasion I finally took a little break to open your file (and SU at all after long days/weeks).
        πŸ˜„

at the same time, let me aslo move it to the Tutorials > Extensions since this is really about using SU extensions in our work.

Basically yes. Note that while working with the bezier curves, you can always edit them so you can really "fine tune" the final output.

i can't seem to open the .skp file, i presume this is an issue with the forum transfer?
            keeps saying error 404.

maybe i am doing something wrong.
            any ideas my fellow sketch-uppers?

            thanks

Just won the 'Who is Least Competitive Championships' where trying to win will make you lose. Trying to lose makes you win which makes you lose. Not trying at all makes you lose which makes you win which makes you lose.

Thanks all! Howard Leslie, I think i'll try the bezier curve method to draw the edges and see what I get. I still haven't seen any tuts that allow control of the curve.
This would be an improvement in my curvy modeling skills if I can figure this one out.
understanding how to do more curvy things was one of my goals for thsi year πŸ˜„
I'm arware of the soapskins powers. It's the curve edge that I need to control and bezier just may give me that I hope.
My assumed method is as follows.

              1. located columns in plan.
              2. draw columns as one line initially (to be line2cylinder later)at given length.
              3. tilt column to desired degree.
              4. rotate column to desired degree.
              5. connect tops of lines with bezier curve using one of the bezier scripts?
              6. after edges are designed used sopaskin (it's a beautiful thing!) to create mesh.
              7. smooth mesh.
Is this the way to execute? If I have missed something let me know. I'll try it when I have time tonight.
