I know - I'm really new to this, but I just read the interview in the newsletter thingie and I just have to ask:
exactly what is an Octavian. Just looking in Wikipedia tells me that an Octavian is either one of Caesar's [as in Julius, not Chavez] cousins or being arrogant about something, and THAT just does not fit the persona of other SketchUp staffers, who seem to be as humble as can be.
To elevate an individual to the level of one of the historical memorables seems unreasonable. Let's not take on that role here, but that be done by the historians who will be better equipped to put any contemporary persona in the proper perspective, once the dust of our planetary realm settles. Leonardo daVinci would not have put himself above all others in his own time.
Can someone please explain.

His name in this context, nothing more. He is Romanian and I guess thats a very Romanian name. His friends call him Tavi (OcTAVIan)

hehe, that was a good one. the idea with the name mixed with the nickname was taken from the movies/cartoon credits. didn't know that it was not so obvious.
