      hi it's me again,
until today, I have watched some tutorial video in youtube which suggested here. thx

there also a problem I could not solve, maybe you can help me?
it's a simple problem, just want to make a ramp, but a "J" shaped ramp,
I tried curvishear plugin but it seems not much help.

      this is the priview:

      http://img834.imageshack.us/img834/6261/bingung.jpg

i explode it and clean all the lines inside the ramp and push a little, and then select one edge line and move it in Z direction (it works if only straight ramp, not j shaped)

      could somebody help me? 😢

        Hi, mingjae:
For some reason, I cannot see your image preview. Could you post again?

          umm sorry, here it is:

          http://img843.imageshack.us/img843/6261/bingung.jpg

I can make a ramp if its not a "J" shaped (see section pic).
I want to make a ramp from level A to level B, can you help me
(it doesn't matter if the lines inside is clear)

          thx

Your surfaces appear to be back faces, or reversed. This may affect how Curvishear behaves. Change the faces and see if this helps. Also, in the first image, it appears that the J is two separate groups?
I am seeing if I can make the ramp...
            EDIT:
Ok. I used Curvishear to make a ramp resembling yours. It is not metric. All dimensions assumed. Curvishear refused to skin for me, as Fredo6 warned in his Curvishear thread.
You need to pick two welded curves, in this case, the continuous left edge and right edge of the ramp to run Curvishear. The upper inside radius was incorrect result, so I used Arc tool with inferencing to correct the curve. I also had to draw the faces of the curves with diagonals then move these vertices to the new arc vertices. Then I copymoved these faces down an assumed distance for thickness and made the faces piece by piece.
Please see attachment with hidden lines visible.
            I don't know if this helps. 😕

              woow, great! it works!

thanks mitcorb! almost forget the weld plugins (make a polyline) and skinning with curviloft!

(note: if you pull the edge line to make the ramp elevation(will pull/stretch all connecting lines), it wont works well, you will make a contour in the ramp, but using curvishear it result a great ramps! )

              thanks SketchUcation

                @mingjae:
I am glad you found a solution, and you responded back. I send my best wishes to you for success.

It is best to post problems with specific plugins in the thread for that plugin. For instance, Curvishear. Fredo6 usually responds, as will others who have significant practice with the tool.

While you thank Sketchucation, be sure to thank Fredo6 and others, who are very generous in offering these tools to the community. And, while I am at it, thank you Fredo6, and thank you Sketchucation!! 💚

                  Hi, mingjae:
I forgot to suggest caution on the "breakover" angle where slope meets level. I think this should not exceed about 7 degrees. Otherwise, the vehicle undercarriage may collide with the pavement.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Y6Rn3CusRc&feature=youtube_gdata for those who use sketchup for imvu i made a tutorial at the end of last year which shows you from start to finish and even importing it to imvu. the video is under 6 minute but very easy to follow, if you would like to know anything else dont be afraid to contact me

Its nice, but it has a way to high poly-count for what you are trying to use it. when using the curve tool reduce the ammount of segments, by changing the number bottom/right of the window.

Howdy ho, everyone! I'm Jean Marie and I'm a newbie to the forums and a newbie to Google Sketch-up. I utilize AUTOCad and Maya for many of my other 3-D needs, but I had never gotten around to using Google Sketch-up. Hopefully I'll learn a thing or two. Anyway, hope to meet everyone soon. 😄

Hi. My name is Goonster. Ive had Sketchup for a while now but still consider myself to be something of a newbie as far as the program is concerned. I like to use Paint.Net for making pictures and doing a bit of post processing of my SU work. I also have Gimp and Terragen 2 which is great for creating photo realistic landscapes. At the moment I am concentrating on making furniture to use in a house project Im doing and last week I uploaded my first two items to the 3D Warehouse. Hopefully I`ll learn even more during my stay here.

                                      Hello you all!
I'd like to introduce myself. I live near Frankfurt (Germany) and like Sketchup since about 3 years, for profession as well as for private works (furniture and inner-buildings etc).
Now i found this forum... 👍 ...so i hope to get better.

I'm very sorry for my bad and childish english; i'm not used to it.

And i've got a stupid question, it's my first download of a ruby.
                                      I think, i'm a typical layer-8-problem 💚 :

i downloaded 'shape bender' (thx to the programmer!), and as demanded 'progressbar'.
In the .zip, there is a lone-standing file named clf_shape_bender_loader.rb,
and in this file following is shown:
                                      require 'sketchup.rb'
                                      require 'extensions.rb'
                                      require 'progressbar.rb'

Ok, the first means to activate the ruby-console, right?
But what does extensions mean? Another necessary download?
And do i have to unzip all, or just drag and drop this loader-file?

                                      Thx for patience...

Hi Oskar and first of all, welcome!

Extensions means that you will need to activate the plugin after you install it under Window > Preferences > Extensions. It also comes with a one-button toolbar that you can activate under View > Toolbars once you activated it and restarted SU.

                                            I just joined yesterday.

I mainly doing Subdivision and condo layouts and it would be great to see the buildings come to life.
