Fredo6 plugins for schools
-
Dear Sir/Madam,
First of all, thank you for creating the amazing Fredo6 tools! Personally, I consider these tools indispensable in SketchUp.
I am writing this message from my personal SketchUcation account. I have been working with your plug-ins for many years and I teach at Cibap vocational school for design in the Netherlands. I also regularly recommend your plug-ins to my students.
Recently, our school purchased the plug-ins for the computer lab where I teach (8 plug-ins for activation on 30 devices). However, we are currently encountering an issue that our ICT department has not been able to resolve.
When we activate the plug-ins under the admin account, they work correctly and appear to be activated. However, when students log in to the school computer using their own user accounts, the plug-ins are not activated for them.
How can we solve this issue? The plug-ins are intended for 30 devices, not for 30 users.
I hope you might be able to help us find a solution. I have prepared a great SketchUp lesson for our students that makes use of your plug-ins, so we would love to get this working.
I look forward to hearing from you. If it is necessary to get in touch personally, I would be happy to provide my contact details.
Kind regards,
Ramon -
I am not sure to understand what you mean by 'login'.
The plugin licenses do not require a login, but an activation via the license files received from Sketchucation. You can possibly put these license files on a shared drive to ease the activation by the students.
So, can you be more explicit. What do the students see?

Hello Fredo6,
Thank you for your response, and sorry for the confusion. By logging in, I mean logging in to the school computer. When students log in to our school computers, a new user profile is created in Windows with their own student number.
When I activate the plug-ins under the admin account, the plug-ins work normally and are activated. However, when a student logs in to Windows, the plug-ins are not activated under their individual user account.
We would like to avoid students having to activate the plug-ins themselves every time they use a school computer (if they even have the permissions to do so within our network). For us, the ideal solution would be that the plug-ins are automatically available for every student who logs in, without needing to activate them for each individual user.
I’m not sure if or how this would be possible.
Ramon
