I am interested to see if I could use the ruby pluging to programmatically place objects in the sketchup space.

The objects would represent ethernet devices such a switches, computers, cameras, etc. My existing software knows how these objects connect to one another.

I want to allow a user to specifiy the most basic of floorspace information, and then I would provide a user interface that would use ruby to make it 'easy' to place each object in the 3D space using the coordinate system of Sketchup.

Note: I used sketchup for other purposes many years ago but am not currently a user
