I've been wanting to do a lobby, but interior light scenes take forever on my old laptop.

So I did one anyway. πŸ˜†

Model from the warehosue. Raylectron Render.

Nice work Bryan πŸ‘ I cant get my head around you raytracing with a a laptop that alone is amazing. Your image is quite convincing but is let down by the bamboo and the horrible native SU soil material. You may know of Sketchup texture club but here is the Link:https://www.sketchuptextureclub.com/ if you are not it is worth a look. Smaller textures are free. But for $15 AU per annum you can download unlimited high quality PBR textures.

            Thanks L i am!

Yeah, trees, foliage, some ground textures and lights kill my laptop. What's worse, I have to wait for hours to see how bad it is.

Raylectron is great, but it's my laptop that's the limiting factor at this time. Hopefully I can buy an upgrade later this year, but even a used, base, workstation class laptop, which is what I need, is over $1000.

Thanks for the link. I'll check that out. πŸ‘

Good textures make a difference, don't they πŸ˜‰

                  They do indeed. πŸ‘

I also used real rock models for the plant pots. Better plants, better texture on the pot as well as rebuilding the pot (far too few segments for the circles, so added more and then rounded the base) and real 3d instead of just texture made a big difference.

Thanks again for the suggestions. It really raised the quality. πŸ‘

                        Thanks Mike. πŸ‘

It's a struggle to be sure. It will often take hours to set up the scene. I'll be thirty minutes into a render and see a flaw, that I either have to fix in SketchUp or adjust in Raylectron and then restart the render from 0.

And the good renders take an hour or more. Some less, but only some.

Mine take from two to four hours and yes, I find myself intending to change something and forgetting or whatever.
