I don't see the SketchUp file and unfortunately I can't tell enough from your PDF to give you any guidance. If the .skp file is too large to upload here, upload it to Drop Box and share the link. If this is something you don't want out for public consumption, send it or the link to me via a private message. After I help you get it sorted I'll eat the file so it can't wind up in enemy hands.

Looks like you sent me a PM but deleted it before I could open it.

I had a look at your SketchUp. Change Untagged back to Default. The dashes style applied to the lowest level of the tagging overrides those above. Really there should be no reason to change the Dashes setting for Untagged to anything other than Default.

Thank you!!!

Glad that took care of it.
FWIW, if you are using SU2020.2, you don't really even need to assign dashes to tags in Sketchup. You can do that per viewport in LayOut instead.

Ok, maybe another question. I was already doing a workaround, maybe there is a more direct way
The linework I wanted to be dotted was a group from a slice. I assigned it to a layer I could make dotted. Noted your last comment I could make it dotted in LO at the viewport. Cool.Is it possible to export a section cut as a dotted line, no fill, or geometry behind the cut? I am stacking viewports. Plan (exist + new) with dotted geometry above.
Alternatively. Can I do the group from slice thing. Make the group a component, so I can have a duplicate in the model, and one to the side that is dotted. I am using model for elevations, so don't want the slice section to show in elevation. Is there a way to have the component in the model hidden for elevations, but dotted for plan work?
Too confusing?

Section cuts aren't "real" geometry so they aren't affected by line styling. The group from slice is the best option and then of course give the group a tag. (Note it's better to think about giving a tag to a group than the other way around since that's really what's happening.)
You could certainly convert the group from slice into a component and if it makes sense to you move a copy of it off away from the model. If you give the group (or component) from slice a tag, you can turn that tag's visibility off for views where you don't want to see it. In fact I think that would be appropriate for all your scenes. Only have the group/component from slice visible in scenes where it is useful.

I did that. It worked, thank you
