Drape numerals and digits.

G'day.
Wanting to drape a team name and number on a car body but for some reason the drape works fine but the result is corrupt numerals and letters so it is basically a wasted exercise. Anyone know a workaround?

I think you can find answers here https://sketchucation.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=323&t=40452

Mike , Not so hard with native tools if your just wanting to create generic lettering on the car.....
Use 3D text tool to create your letters. Make them thick enough to go all the way through the body panel. I like to position the letters where I want them and then adjust the angle so they are fairly square to the panel. Once in position I copy the letter to clipboard, erase original , open the panel component and do a paste in place. Select the letter group and body skin you want lettered and intersect selection. Erase letter group and there you have it. Suggest using the "Dave method" and work on a scaled up copy. Takes way longer to describe then to do..... TIG's super drape may be the way to go if you want to use specific logo , lettering from an existing race car.

I normally go with the method tuna describes but in this instance it fell apart and became unusable/ I ended up making a decal and separate backing to drape the whole over the nose of the vehicle. Not perfect but after mucking about all afternoon I have something that I can work with, a bit. Ish, somewhat.......
I like where that fuel tank racer is going, sharp or what...
Thanks for the tips folks I will have to have another look at the tig item tomorrow.

Ahhh.... so that’s what you’re doing. Definitely looks like TIG’s Super Drape would work for this. Followed the link srx posted and read up on it.For sure need to check it out myself. Looks like it would be good for putting all the various speed equipment stickers on a car.

Cheers mate, I agree with both of you and it will be handy as you say for all the sponsorship stickers and fire, engine stop etc.
