      hello everyone,
I have used sketchup a few months ago but the day I experienced a small problem, every time I open the project file the same sketchup does not respond.
so, how to fix sketchup not responding?? I have read many tutorials in sketchup post but none have been able to overcome that.

I use Sketchup 2016 on an AMD A9 GEN 7Th laptop, 4GB RAM and 1 GB VGA.

Thank you, have a nice day

Have you been able to open other files, then tried the problem file again? After a file crashes I cannot get SketchUp to work sometimes, unless I open another file first.

How large is the SketchUp model file?

"Not responding" generally indicates that SketchUp is busy working on something. If the file is large or heavily detailed it could be that your computer is slow enough that it will take time. It might be that SketchUp is trying to fix something. Go to Preferences>General and untick the boxes for automatically checking and fixing model problems. Maybe that will help.

Have you loaded the model up with a bunch of components from the 3D Warehouse? It's possible one or more of them is loading the model down.

              hi dave, thanks for helping.
My file size is 50MB, it contains a picture of my project's home design. I am very nervous when I want to present and then experience sketchup not responding.

I tried the 'unused purge' technique but still sketchup not responding.

              Do you have another solution?

                  of course,
is this the wrong specification of my laptop?

It could be that your laptop isn't up to the task of handling the file. As I wrote before, "Not responding" means SketchUp is trying to process something in the model file and it is taking time, most likely because of the CPU but there could be other bottlenecks in the processing. Maybe it's time for a new computer. Maybe it's also time to upgrade SketchUp. Since 2016 there has been a fair amount of performance optimization changes that make handling large files easier and faster.
