Sketchup 2020 and layout won't open without reinstalling
-
Another issue with sketchup 2020 and layout.
It kept crashing sometimes several times a day. So I uninstalled and reinstalled Sketchup 2020. Now when I click on the icon on a Sketchup file, it says it has to reinstall Sketchup.
A window pops up saying it has to install. After a minute or so, another window pops up saying the
"the feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable"
Use source
C:\Users\Glen\AppData\Local\Temp{63DA1EBF-F396-4AC7-B53D-050273852768}{03CB7BC4-3C9C-452B-BFD7-1C3616BE96BD}\Takes forever to close, just keeps hanging on the screen.
Eventually, it says network not responding, then I can close the window. All the files are on my harddrive, ea customer has their own folder but all are on my harddrive.
Now, if I open generic Sketchup 2020 on my desktop screen, it opens fine, then I can open the file that I was trying to open, opens fine when I select open file.
Say issue with Layout.I have uninstalled and reinstalled several times, no change. It is installed the same way every time as I have for years.
For me, SKetchup 2020 has given me more errors, crashes and poor performance than any previous sketchup, and I have been working with Sketchup since 2006.

When you installed SketchUp 2020 (and reinstalled it) did you right click on the downloaded installer and choose Run as administrator? Assuming you didn't or don't know, find the downloaded installer, right click on it and choose Run as administrator. Then when the options pop up, choose Repair.
