Tool Bars got rearranged
-
I'm running SU 2019. Had all my Tool Bars set. This morning when I opened SketchUp the Tool Bars were scattered. Still docked, but all scrambled up. Found some info when I searched the forum, but didn't find anything quite like it. Does anyone know what's going on? Thanks[/size]

This sounds like a result of incorrect installation. When you installed SketchUp 2019, did you right click on the installer and choose Run as administrator? Or did you use a different method to install it?
To make sure the installation is correct, sign in to Windows with your normal user. Make sure SketchUp and LayOut are both closed. Find the downloaded installer, right click on it, choose Run as administrator and when prompted, choose Repair. After the repair is completed, reboot your computer, open SketchUp and arrange your toolbars as needed. It wouldn't hurt to do a little modeling and save it after you've set the toolbars where you want them.

I don't recall precisely how I installed SU2019. I will give the procedure you recommend a go. Thank you for the response and thank you for your suggestion. Will let you know how it goes.

I might be showing my ignorance, but I can NOT find the downloaded installer. This is a single-user PC and I am the Administrator, but I doubt I used "Run as Administrator" when SU2019 was installed, unless it was specified in the procedure. Any tips on how to find the installer? Thanks.

The downloaded installer file would typically wind up in Downloads. Assuming you've deleted it already, go to sketchup.com/download/all and get it again.
Being the system administrator is not the same as using Run as administrator from the Context menu. Make sure you do use Run as administrator.

One other thing I neglected to mention is that the Tool Bars were staying put initially (several weeks), and that the "instability" occurred after many SU start-ups.

Thank you again. As per your suggestion (as my Downloads Folder is empty), I downloaded the SU2019 Installer (to my Desktop), ran the Repair function as Administrator, then rebooted, arranged Tool Bars, inserted a simple model. I then saved as a template and opened another instance of SU. This did not remedy the problem. Shall I try uninstalling, then reinstalling SU as Administrator?
