18th Century Swedish Daybed
-
Saw this piece on the 1stdibs.com web site and decided to model it, carvings and all. The original is in the Gustavian style, and was made in Stockholm in the late 1700s. It's nearly 8 feet long. Maybe it was built for two.
Enjoy.

Thanksch, Dave. CJ, Idoget a little compulsive sometimes. I saved a little time by modeling one piece of egg-and-dart carving, then copying it and scaling it as needed. Still a lot of cleanup, though.
Best for the New Year,

A really really good work! This design somehow reminds me of the "beds" used by the ancient Romans. I immediately heard Peter Ustinov (as Nero) saying: Poppea, hand me my tear glass...
Thanks for posting this! -
Thanks for the good words, HornOxx.
And happy new year.
