Extension for plumbing pipes and for electrical wiring

I am interested in having a dynamic component or extension for plumbing pipes and for electrical wiring. I know there is 3skeng but it is way too expensive and out of my league. Is there any other extensions (or components) out there that is a lot cheaper or better still free?
