Troubleshooting Section Plane

Hi, I'm having trouble figuring out why section plane is not working as intended when I use it. I've tried looking it up and can't seem to find a resolution. The issue I'm having is when I use the Section Plane tool, rather than making the object hollow so that I can see inside it, the face that is selected becomes dark and not transparent. If anyone knows why this is, I'd greatly appreciate it. Thank you!

Can you share the SKP file so we can see what you've got? That would eliminate the guesswork.
Maybe all you need to do is turn off Section Fill.
Toggle it off in the Section toolbar...
...or turn it off in the Styles Edit section...
...or turn it off in the View menu.
Remember to update the style after editing it.
