How to hide selected edges

Hi, I am working on a model and want to get rid of some edges but show others. Is this possible?

Select the edges you want to hide. Right click and choose Hide.

Definitely one of those Duh! moments for me

Or use the eraser while holding shift to hide edges or ctrl to soften edges.
