Question regarding Upgrade to 2019.
-
I've been reading conflicting info, hopefully, someone here can give a definitive answer.
I have upgraded each version of SU since V4, and currently use 2018. My "maintenance" is good until December 2019. (Mine is the perpetual/classic license) I read somewhere that updating to 2019 disables older versions. I'm pretty certain I will not be moving forward to future versions. But I would like to have a working version that I've paid for.
So, will 2019 disable 2018 on my machine? If it does, when I do not subscribe for 2020, will my 2019 version stop functioning, or revert to a lesser version? Basically, if I want to have a working version of SU, sans control by Trimble, which version should I use?

Assuming a standalone workstation perpetual Pro ("Classic") licence:
When obtaining and activating your SU new version serial, the previous (and older) version (-s) cannot be reactivated after 30 days.
But the existing already activated installations on the machine will keep on going as long as they're installed. Once you uninstall them you cannot reactivate them, as explained above.
The latest installation can, however, be deactivated (uninstalled) and reactivated (reinstalled) as you see fit within the licencing limits.
I hope this helps?

What if I do not update to 2019. How does that affect my licenses for various past versions?

Assuming your most recent version is SU 2018 Pro, this will remain in effect as described above, the previous versions will not be able to be re-activated, as described above.

Only on two machines and only one SketchUp can be active at the same time.
