SketchUp 2019 release

whooooooshhhhhh
The sound of a joke going overhead... -
I see there was a maintenance release for MAC users on the 12th. Maybe that was it?

Hope you got a lot of support this year because you sure didn't get any maintenance for your $120 per license.

Nah, that wasn't it. Curious how a maintenance release would be rolled so close to traditional new version releases.

The less said the better.

Doesn't being bound by an NDA mean that even adding your vote here mean you have broken the NDA by acknowledging it's existence.
-
The last four releases were either on a Monday or a Tuesday... so most likely early next week?

That would be nice.

It's safe for anyone to assume there will be a 2019 version, based on the past. No one knows when it will come out.

Since there is a holiday next week in that U.S., I am guessing it will not be until at least the week after.

That was an update for Mojave users.

I wonder if that means if we go to Mojave we have to use v. 18 to avoid issues.
Well, none of the earlier versions will be updated so if you update to Mojave and then have issues, you'll have to decide whether to go back to an earlier OS or update SketchUp. There seems to have been enough issues created by Mojave that they decided to put resources into updating SU2018 even this late in the cycle.

I'm sooo feeling this! I am still using 2016 because of all my plugins. I have 2018 on a secondary machine, just so I can open 2018 files I get from others, and for geolocate (which has been awful btw, since they can't use Google any more.)

I updated to 2018 pro and what a PIA to re-install all the plugins.
Never bothered to install and use 2017 pro.
How about a real value update pleasedtr Architect

Thanks. Yeah that sounds like an indication of the importance. I am on automatic update but have stayed in an older version for various reasons, partly for collaboration, and partly cause it ain't broke. Same with the OS.

Cool! I'm on the subscription, so it's not a big deal. It was more a comment about how completely underwhelming the last few version have been in terms of what I need for my day to day use.

How close / accurate should one expect annual releases to be to the definition of annual, ie. how much "grace" would be reasonable? Asking for a friend...

I like the way Apple does it - you know in September they're going to release an iPhone. They announce the presentation date a few weeks out. In the presentation, they give the day everyone can order and when you'll receive it. It's always around the same time.
It would help if they announced a release date a month before releasing it.

I chose excited but not making a fuss about it, I imagine Iāll get labelled āevangelistā or something for that. Iād just call it quiet optimism.
I have a feeling today might be ātheā day, with nothing to back up that theory though.

Agree with your first part but still betting on next so they do not have to have support staff on call during the Thanksgiving holidays.

My youthful exuberance is hoping today/tomorrow - but I like your guess better!
