Very, very basic mass rough out. Many mass blocks are still missing. I'm trying to get the relative proportions set before adding the next set of mass blocks and then detailing.

Much as I love a good spaceship, they are a literal minefield for me and despite watching sci-fi up the yazoo am totally unable to come up with much beyond a simple rocket but them's the breaks. This is coming along nicely and watching you might end up giving me a clue or twenty. Rock on Bryan it's looking good.

                Thanks Mike!

I picked this because I thought it might be a rather simple mode, however what I've run into is a lot of trapezoids so it's going to take longer that I expected.

This is an example of what's happening in the model. Almost all the mass blocks have some sort of angle to them. And that is making it hard to judge proportional sizes.

Most of the forward massing is done. Now to work on the aft blocking.

Some aft blocking. Much more left to be made.

                        👍 👍 a powerful carrier-like raw shape so far, a ship you'd better not mess with 😄
I look forward to it´s progress.
And btw, I love these series where the final output is not defined yet - so thanks for sharing!

Most of the large massing is now complete. Some proportions and shapes still need adjusting, but it's pretty close as is.

From here on it's going to be detail work. I'll try to post logical updates, but I'm not sure how well everyone will be able to follow along.

Like a butterfly coming out of a cocoon, pretty much describes the creation of any model. Getting there dood.

From here on I am going take each major mass block and detail them as new, separate files and then import them back as components.

This is easily done by copying the block I want to work on, opening a new file and then "Paste in Place". When they are imported back into the main drawing, they slot back exactly in the location they were copied from if they were not moved away from the origin point in the new file. When you import, be sure to use the origin point to place the imported component. (where all three axis meet)

I'll start back at the beginning with the bridge.

The first picture shows the relationship to copy and paste in place in new file. The second one shows the comparison updates.
