Sharing a license
-
I am a one-man shop. I have a laptop and a desktop. Some of my work can not be done on the laptop, must be on the tower. I take my laptop with me everywhere. Looking for how to share a license with me.
My two suggestions are both very cumbersome. Run 2017 on my laptop, 2018 on my tower and back save every time I pick up my laptop.
Or, Run 2018 on both machines. Removing license from the one I am not on. Both require me remembering the required parameters, usually when I am tired, and under a deadline.
Does anyone have a better suggestion? Buying a second license for myself just doesn't make sense to me. Btw, I have one Adobe license running on both machines. Adobe figured it out to make my life easier.

Your license allows you to use it on two machines.

Thank you
To the best of my knowledge, it will only work if I uninstall it on the other, and vic versa. How can I get it to work on two without the switching?

Your knowledge needs a little updating. You can install and license SketchUp Pro on two computers. I run SketchUp 2018 Pro on my desktop PC and my MacBook Pro with no problem.
From the Help Article regarding licensing:

If you have a single-user license, you can authorize your license on up to two computers running either Windows or Mac OS X. If you already authorized your license on two computers, you can remove a license on a computer in order to use the license on a different computer.

Thanks, I was wrong. I now have it on both machines. I appreciate your help.

Happy to see you got it sorted.
