      Dear Forum,

I have a georeferenced dxf-file (GK-Zone 2, EPSG 31466) and I want to get it into Sketchup to export it to GE. The location is also correct, tested it in QGIS.
If I directly import it, Sketchup will screw the geolocation. And if I get a "reference point" in my dxf and transfer this point to WGS84 and use it as origin point in SKP, the location and the dimensions seems to match, but the model is rotated for roughly 2-3 degrees. And when I transfer the dxf in QGIS to WGS84 and to later on the same, I have the same problem.
Does anybody know what has to be adjusted in the procedure?
Or is there a more simple way to get a referenced acad-file referenced into sketchup?

Or just asked generally: how can I "transfer" a geographic reference while importing a 3D-model from another source ?

I find getting any georefenced data into SU a PIA requiring some kind of work arounds. Why don't you use 2 reference points so then you can rotate your data?

              hi alpro,

thanks for the response. what do you mean by work arounds...do you have any example?
the problem with two reference points is, that this doesn't work for instance if you have an underlying raster-satelitte image.
and sorry for the question, but what is PIA?
