Section Cut Turn disabled in 2018 PRO
-
After installing SU18 I was pleased with the new feature Filling Section Cut areas. But then I tried to turn a section in order to align it to the geometry of the building. I cannot get it working with ordinary tools. Is there a workaround? It worked fine in SU17 by the way.
Glad for any reply

The section tool rotates the same way in 2018 as it has always done.
Perhaps if you show us where you are having an issue we can show you what is wrong. -

Thanks for the reply!Michael

Are you on Windows 10? Ever since using it I have the problem of apps either not launching or not working the way expected, rebooting generally solves the problem here as well.

When you installed SketchUp 2018, did you right click on the installer and choose Run as administrator? Or did you just double click on it to get it to run? If you didn't use Run as administrator from the right click Context menu, SketchUp isn't installed correctly and all sorts of weird things can happen.

I run this PC on WIN7 SP2 and always install as Admin. I must also admit that since I installed SU2018 this is the very first issue that I encountered without having a decent explanation. Most of the little'Bugs' are self constructed and I usually find out why soon enough. With some you just cant help, because they seem to be related to plugins.
We have a saying ofer here going: Never value the Teeths of a horse givin to you for free!
If I should encounter this little mishap more often I will report it.
Thanks alot

So you always right click on the installer exe and choose Run as administrator? It's important to note that doing that is different from just logging in with administrator privileges.

We have that, too. It's generally worded as, "Never look a gift horse in the mouth."
